MY-CON: Something of a Unicorn

Finding a convention that you can actually attend in person is something of a unicorn these days. Um, thank you, Covid. Well, leave it to MY-CON, whose trademark graphic is an actual unicorn, to be the ones to ease the anime, comic, cosplay, and fantasy-loving community of the Central Florida area back into the convention scene.

MY-CON, an up-and-coming convention (similar to other Orlando conventions, but not nearly as costly) safely welcomed masked attendees on Saturday, March 6, as they featured events and merchandise for their fans in over 8,000 square feet of socially-distanced space.

Apoa Promotions and Artistic Collections (aka Appreciation of Artistry) was there, on-scene, to volunteer for this creative and affordable event held at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive! We saw first-hand the appreciation of attendees at being able to recommence a sense of normalcy by experiencing MY-CON while likewise feeling safe at the precautions taken by staff and volunteers.

The venue included a showroom full of artists and vendors, various panels from 11 AM until 9:30 PM, a scavenger hunt and cosplay contests in three different categories: Adults (18+), Teen (13-17), and Kids (5-12). For complete descriptions of the convention activities and to stay tuned for more information about the next MY-CON, visit their website at www.mystic-con.com. Until then, you can take part in the fantasy via these animazing (pun intended) shots of the day...
